Samantha Lynagh is breaking a sweat in her workout clothes. In a new social media post shared by her coach, the bodybuilder shows off her perfect form and beautiful back muscles during an exercise session. “Big back days with the pros today .. Samantha understands the importance of nutrition. “Diet makes up 70 to 80 percent of your fitness,” Lynagh tells Sports Illustrated. “I see people working hard in the gym, but if they don’t eat correctly, all their effort is for nothing.”
Lynagh was always an athlete, but the “the inspiration to train for bodybuilding came when I saw changes in my body composition and decided to get into top physical shape,” she told SI. One thing that inspired her was flipping through the pages of fitness magazines. “I would […] see women in incredible shape,” she says. “I thought to myself, ‘I want to look like that!’ and that’s when I began sculpting my body.”
Samantha dished about her diet to SI. She explains that she tries to focus her meals around lean proteins like chicken and protein pancakes, complex carbohydrates, and eats frequently to maintain optimal muscle definition.
Samantha shares videos and food photos on Instagram. A few of her go-to meals? Egg white omelets with turkey, peppers, onion, and fat free mozzarella, homemade protein pancakes with oats, cottage cheese, cinnamon toast crunch protein powder, blueberries, and chocolate chips, and 4 ingredient cookies with one scoop of protein powder, one cup oats, 2 mashed bananas, and lily’s chocolate chips.
