Bill Belichick refers to his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, as his “creative muse” in the foreword of his new book, ‘The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football.’ She did not want to discuss their relationship during an interview with CBS Sunday Morning.
It was awkward.
Hudson, a former competitive cheerleader and Division-III national champion, first entered the public eye around this time last year. She reportedly started dating the eight-time NFL champion at some point in 2023 but they only made their relationship “social media official” in June of 2024.
Belichick immediately drew criticism for his “predatory” behavior because his new girlfriend is only 24 years old. The legendary head coach is more than three times the age of Hudson.
Whatever. Age gaps happen. Younger women date older men. Older men date younger women. Who cares!
However, Jordon Hudson’s role in the life of Bill Belichick is where things start to get wonky.
It was reported last month that the head football coach at North Carolina instructed his fellow employees at the university to CC his girlfriend on his emails. Hudson was also very involved during the Tar Heels’ spring football game— to the point that it became a distraction.
Not long thereafter, it was reported that Hudson demanded action against “slanderous commentary” about her boyfriend and their relationship on UNC football’s social media pages. She wanted the university to delete any negative comments about Belichick and to block the users who made them.
An interview with CBS Sunday Morning is the latest “incident,” for lack of better word.
Tony Dokoupil asked Bill Belichick how he met Jordon Hudson. Hudson, sitting at a nearby desk with a scowl on her face, shot it down. “We’re not talking about this,” she said.
To make the optics even worse, Dokoupil and CBS made it abundantly clear that Hudson was a “constant presence” throughout the entire interview process— to the point that it was weird. They included visual and audio examples.
I am not here to judge the most successful head coach in NFL history for dating a woman more than 40 years younger. I am not here to judge their relationship. Whatever works, works.
With that being said, it seems to me, as an outsider, that Hudson might be a little bit too involved with the day-to-day operations in Chapel Hill. And by day-to-day operations, I mean Belichick’s every move.
