Pednekar tells Vogue that she is committed to working out, and she is seeing results with this mentality. “If you want something, don’t wait for a Monday to begin working for it. Just show up. I just woke up each day and showed up at the gym. I decided to never break this resolve, so there were days when I would merely take a steam and sauna and potter around. But I was there, soaking in the energy. There’s no dearth of excuses when the motivation is down. I knew I had to push past this.”
One way Pednekar stays in shape is by going on runs regularly. She tells Vogue that she likes to start her day by going for a jog. “Running regularly and light exercises along with a balanced diet will help keep you active. Hence, I start my day with running followed by a healthy breakfast.”
For Pednekar, working out isn’t just about her body. It’s also about her mind. She tells Vogue that she focuses her mind when she goes to the gym. ”It’s not just physical, it’s meditative too. I do a lot of thinking when I’m working out.”
Pednekar makes sure to stretch when she works out. She posted this photo on Instagram of herself stretching her back at the gym. She captioned the post, “Getting there. One stretch at a time.” “You should include stretching to your normal exercise routine,” says Dr. Glenn Shi, a Mayo Clinic orthopedic surgeon, to the Mayo Clinic. “The first reason is that it can increase your range of motion in your joints….Post-workout stretches are very important because your muscles, at that time, are warm, and they’re very responsive to stretching,” Dr. Shi explains.
Pednekar tells Vogue that she makes sure to eat healthy each day. She also says that she starts first thing in the morning. Pednekar describes her ideal healthy breakfast as having, “nuts, fruits that help maintain my energy levels and give me the boost of nutrition I need to go about my day.” “Eating nuts as part of a healthy diet may be good for your heart. Nuts contain unsaturated fatty acids and other nutrients. And they’re a great snack food — inexpensive, easy to store and easy to pack when you’re on the go,” says the Mayo Clinic.
