After a long wait and several speculations, it seems the EON Productions have found their James Bond, one who will succeed Daniel Craig. Names of actors like Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, Tom Hiddleston, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson came up, and now one among them has reportedly been roped in, as per insiders. Keep scrolling for more.

James Bond is a fictional character by British novelist Ian Fleming in 1953. The English secret agent operates under the code name 007. From Sean Connery to Pierce Brosnan, several actors portrayed the character. Daniel Craig’s version is reportedly one of the most loved ones. The EON series has about 25 movies; the last was released in 2021.

According to reports, James Bond’s role has gone to the Marvel star Aaron Taylor-Johnson. An insider told The Sun, “Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table, and they are waiting to hear back.” For the unversed, Aaron is known for his performance in the Bullet Train, and he appeared as Pietro Maximoff, aka Quicksilver, in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He has another Marvel movie, which will be released this year. He won the Golden Globe award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in 2016’s Nocturnal Animals.

Speaking further about it, the insider added, “As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days, and they can start preparing for the big announcement.” The movie reportedly got delayed because of the Hollywood strikes last year. The insiders have assured that the studio is working on a script and that the production is scheduled at Buckinghamshire’s Pinewood Studios.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s name first came up as one of the frontrunners for the James Bond role in 2022, but nothing substantial came out after that until this.

What Aaron Taylor-Johnson had to say about being James Bond?

Previously, the Kick-Ass actor shared his thoughts on what he would do if offered James Bond. Aaron gave a positive answer and said, “I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment.”

What do netizens think about this?

One user wrote, “Well, he has the perfect name…so I love him!”

Another gave a dicey response and said, “Physically he works in the role. But his voice is all wrong. It’s not deep enough, especially compared to Connery and Craig.”

A user said, “anyone besides Idris Elba and I’m not watching it.”

Followed by one saying, “Nothing about him is appealing to me.”

And, “I thought he was outstanding and very charismatic when I first saw him in Bullet Train with Brad Pitt. He’s a great choice. Look forward to it.”

Why was Henry Cavill not chosen as James Bond?

Henry Cavill is undoubtedly a handsome guy and British – the perfect combination for the role of James Bond. He was reportedly the second choice to play 007 when Daniel Craig landed in the part. However, in an interview with Express UK, Martin Campbell said that Cavill nailed the audition but was too young for the role.

Cambell explained, “And look, if Daniel didn’t exist, Henry would have made an excellent Bond. He looked terrific, he was in great physical shape… very handsome, very chiseled. He just looked a little young at that time back then.”

As for Aaron Taylor-Johnson as James Bond, there has been no official confirmation from the studios. He will be seen in and as Kraven the Hunter on the work front. The film is expected to be released in August this year.
