Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure is doubling in size. The Mouse House announced Earth’s mightiest heroes are getting two major new attractions at the park. The first will let visitors travel the multiverse against King Thanos. The other new ride will star Robert Downey Jr. himself in his original franchise role. Guests will help Iron Man test out some new flying equipment.

This year’s D23 was a cornucopia of good news for fans of Disney Parks, especially those who also love the Avengers. Disney’s California Adventure is going to finally make good on the promise and potential of Avengers Campus. The park is massively increasing its offerings in its superhero land. Next year construction will begin on two new attractions.

Avengers Infinity Defense Is the First New Marvel Ride Heading to Avengers Campus

The first of the two new attractions is a “multi-world adventure experience” called Avengers Infinity Defense. While ride mechanics are not yet known, the concept art and miniature models of the ride’s cars makes us think it might be similar to Rise of the Resistance.) The company did provide concept art that shows which characters will show up, as well as the premise behind it.

Avengers Infinity Defense will feature a bearded King Thanos Variant as its primary antagonist. It will also take riders through some famous franchise locales. From Disney:

Technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has gone missing, and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc everywhere. Recruits will travel to iconic locations like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City alongside the likes of big, and small, heroes. You also just might find yourself face-to-face with King Thanos, too.

Stark Flight Lab Is a New Iron Man Ride at Disneyland That Will Delight Marvel Fans

Disney provided a more detailed look at its second newly announced Avengers ride. The all-new Stark Flight Lab will let guests “test” Iron Man’s newest technology. They’ll do that in two-person pods that a robot arm will grab and start “whirling” around “in a simulated flight.”

And Robert Downey, Jr. will join alongside them for the tests. He’s reprising his original MCU role as the genius billionaire playboy philanthropist.

With these two new attractions Avengers Campus is finally going to be as mighty as Earth’s greatest heroes. Just so long as they always stop this version of Thanos, too.
