ARIANA Grande’s fans have spotted her subtle tribute to Wicked in her new The Boy is Mine music video.
The singer, 30, portrayed Catwoman opposite actor Penn Badgley, 37, in the clip, which dropped on Friday.

Ariana snuck in some promotion for Wicked, the musical she’s starring in which will come out in November, halfway through the video.
The Grammy winner was seen dressed in a tight black leather catsuit, with a cat-ear mask, gloves, boots, and a whip.
While making her way across a cityscape skyline, Ariana’s dramatic figure was silhouetted against the moon.
Fans noticed that in the corner of the scene, a billboard poster for her Wicked movie was visible.
“Ariana Grande the marketing genius that you are [crying face emoji],” one wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The clip began with a cameo from singers Brandy and Monica, who sang the 1998 song, The Boy is Mine.
The musicians posed as reporters presenting a news segment on Mayor Max Starling’s upcoming speech.
Ariana stood in her kitchen watching Penn, portraying the fictional mayor, on her television screen.
The You actor denounced the “rat infestation” in his “beloved city.”
Penn declared that the city was fighting back by releasing a group of “hungry cats” to kill the rats.
Ariana said the move was “f**king brilliant” and called Penn “so hot.”
She then mixed a pink potion in her kitchen, which had the label “Max Starling Love Potion.”
She was seen creating a leather Catwoman costume, changing into it, and heading out into the night.
Ariana stalked Penn to his apartment and watched him through the windows.

She snuck into his pad and sat waiting on his bed, seductively licking her hands and cleaning her cat ears.
When Penn started running away, she used her whip to tackle him to the floor and slowly drag him over to her.
The singer took out her “love potion” and, just as it looked like they were about to kiss, Penn dashed it out of her hand and it exploded on the wall.

They were referring to Evan Peters playing Ariana’s love interest in her We Can’t Be Friends music video in March.

Ariana began teasing Gossip Girl star Penn’s cameo in her music video last month.
She shared a snapshot of a pencil portrait that resembled Penn on her Instagram Story, which sent fans into meltdown.
Days later, she posted a photo with the caption, “Not the whole Internet showing up to ask us if Penn is in The Boy is Mine MV.”
The Boy is Mine is the latest music video release from Ariana’s studio album, Eternal Sunshine.
