LSU women’s college basketball star Angel Resse gave fans a vague update amid her absence from their game against Southeastern Louisiana.

The 21-year-old and last season’s Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA women’s basketball tournament took to social media on Thursday, sharing a photo from inside an empty LSU practice court.

Resse was benched on Tuesday in the second half of their game against Kent State.

However, LSU coach Kim Mulkey tried to defuse the situation after the game, calling it a “coach’s decision” and offering no more details.

And on Friday, Resse was not with the team as the Tigers knocked off Southeastern Louisiana with a 73-50 victory.

Mulkey addressed the situation in her postgame press conference on Friday night and did not offer much transparency on the subject.

“You want me to explain why? It’s very obvious Angel was not in uniform.

“Angel is a part of this basketball team, and we hope to see her sooner than later,” Mulkey said.

The situation remains unclear, but Resse appears to be staying active and training.

She posted a picture on her Instagram story of an empty LSU practice court with a cart of basketballs in it.

Resse also posted a series of photos on TikTok on Friday in a post directed at her boyfriend, Florida State basketball player Cam’ron Fletcher.

She captioned the post with a heartfelt message and alluded to the pressures she felt.

“They can say whatever they want about you, but I know you the realist on my team.

“Friends for 6 years and now 6 months of dating. Thank for you for being there during the light & the dark of my life.

“You keep me sane & being my peace is what I’ve always look at you for.

“Knowing I carry the weight of the world on my shoulders & every day isn’t easy for me, you always ALWAYS make sure I’m good,” Resse wrote.

LSU opened up the season ranked No. 1 but was upset in their first game, 92-78 to Colorado.

Despite the loss, LSU has won four straight games, and Reese has still put up solid numbers, averaging 17 points and 10.3 rebounds through four games.
