Andy Cohen Fires Back at Vanity Fair Exposé at BravoCon: ‘Factually Incorrect’

Face of Bravo — and BravoCon master of ceremonies — also brushed off Bethenny Frankel’s so-called “reality reckoning” onstage

The first morning of BravoCon kicked off with a bang on Friday when Andy Cohen took the stage for a Q&A moderated by Jeff Lewis. While excited fans were eager to hear his thoughts about which cast members from the Real Housewives franchise he texts with the most and his favorite non-Housewives Bravo series, one fan also asked him what he thought about Bethenny Frankel’s recent allegations against Bravo and what she’s calling “the reality reckoning.”

“As we can all see, Bravo and the shows that are on Bravo bring millions of people so much joy and so much happiness, which is why we’re all here — to have fun,” Cohen said. “I live in the joy that these shows bring people, and I think we all do, and I think that’s the place that I’m at.”

Following the panel, Cohen told Rolling Stone he thought the recent Vanity Fair exposé that alleged former Real Housewives of New York star Ramona Singer used the N-word on set and other instances of racism “was a factually incorrect rehash of old stories.”

Earlier this week, the Instagram account for the Watch What Crappens podcast posted a meme with the caption, “Vanity Fair breaks the news that adults drink and Ramona is a racist.” Cohen commented on the post with a crying laughing emoji and when asked about his comment, he told Rolling Stone, “I didn’t really think much about it.”

Singer was originally slated to appear at BravoCon but was removed from the lineup following the investigation.

In a statement to Rolling Stone, Singer denied the allegations: “I stopped filming RHONY in February 2021. These accusations were all aired publicly in September 2021. These claims were investigated by the network back then and they found no basis for the claims. I stand by all my comments in the article. I am extraordinarily disappointed that Vanity Fair and Page Six felt the need to re-amplify this non-story.”
