Reacher star Alan Ritchson is massive, both culturally and physically.

After making a name for himself on the beloved millennial comedy series Blue Mountain State, the now 41-year-old Ritchson went on to appear in TV shows such as Black Mirror, Legends of Tomorrow and Titans, the latter two of which featured him as DC Comics hero Hank Hall / Hawk.

Ritchson’s fame reached another level in 2021, however, when he began starring as Jack Reacher on the Prime Video series Reacher, which recently debuted its second season to a perfect Rotten Tomatoes critics score.

Thanks to Reacher, Ritchson now finds himself teetering on the A-list, as he recently joined the Fast & Furious franchise following a debut role in Fast X and will next be seen starring opposite Oscar winner Hilary Swank in the drama Ordinary Angels and alongside Henry Cavill in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming action epic The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

The ultimate sign of Ritchson’s growing status in the pop cultural zeitgeist, though, have been recent shouts for him to be cast as Bruce Wayne / Batman in James Gunn’s DCU.

Now that Ritchson is so famous, he also has to deal with the other side of the coin, and that’s engaging with fans, even former high school bullies who ask him for selfies.

During a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Ritchson revealed that he recently found himself in that exact situation and was, perhaps surprisingly, willing “to oblige.”

“Before we left Florida, I ran into one of the guys who teased me in high school. He wanted a selfie. I was happy to oblige, but it felt strange,” Ritchson said. “He forgot what he did, but I didn’t.”

Before the release of season two, Prime Video renewed Reacher for a third season. The first two seasons of the series are now streaming.
