Various Artists: Earl’s Closet: The Lost Archive of Earl McGrath, 1970-1980 [Light in the Attic]

Earl McGrath was a tastemaker, impresario, and art collector who hung with the illustrious likes of Joan Didion, Andy Warhol, and Annie Leibovitz in his 1970s heyday. He also discovered Hall & Oates, whose previously unreleased song “Dry in the Sun” is one of 22 unearthed obscurities compiled on a new Light in the Attic archival album. Other finds from McGrath’s archive include songs by Terry Allen, the New York Dolls’ David Johansen, the Jim Carroll Band, Delbert McClinton and Glen Clark, Andy Warhol’s Superstar Ultra Violet, Norma Jean Bell, and others.

Lloyd Banks: The Course of the Inevitable 2 [Money by Any Means Inc./Empire]

The Course of the Inevitable 2 is the follow-up to 2021’s Coti. Earlier last year, the former G-Unit star release the first Course of the Inevitable, which Pitchfork’s Alphonse Pierre praised for its “grounded tales of family and hardships” and “chilly East Coast beats.” Guests on the new record include Dave East, Benny the Butcher, Jadakiss, Vado, and, on pre-release single “Menace,” Buffalo’s Conway the Machine.
