Bruce Springsteen: Only the Strong Survive [Columbia]

For his latest album, Only the Strong Survive, Bruce Springsteen has covered 15 soul songs, including tracks popularized by the Walker Brothers, transgender pioneer Jackie Shane, Jimmy Ruffin, and more. “I wanted to make an album where I just sang,” he explained. “My goal is for the modern audience to experience its beauty and joy, just as I have since I first heard it. I hope you love listening to it as much as I loved making it.” Only the Strong Survive is Springsteen’s first covers collection since 2006’s We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions and follows his 2020 album Letter to You.
