50 Cent Responds To Super Bowl Body Shaming Comments

“Fat shaming only applies when you’re ashamed of your fat.”

50 Cent responded to derogatory comments about his body after his Super Bowl performance.

In case you missed it, 50 Cent was one of the surprise performers alongside Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and Snoop Dogg. He performed “In da Club,” and even started off the performance upside-down as an homage to the original music video.

However, a lot tweets zeroed in on 50 Cent’s body (which we won’t be showing here, but I’m sure you can imagine).

Everybody talking about 50 Cent size y’all ain’t the same size you were when that song came out either so… 💁‍♀️🤣🤣🤣

Following the Super Bowl, 50 Cent then posted some merch — which the New York Post interpreted as him taking “advantage of the social media attention” brought on from the “fat-shaming.”

Well, it looks like 50 himself saw the New York Post article, because he posted the headline on his Instagram and wrote, “I call this teasing me.”

“They’re just teasing me because they know I can drop the weight,” he continued. “That’s why I laugh with them.”

FWIW, it’s also cool if you can’t or don’t want to lose weight!

“Fat shaming only applies when you’re ashamed of your fat,” he concluded.

Unfortunately, 50 Cent himself hasn’t treated others so kindly on social media. Back in December, he mocked Madonna’s lingerie photos by saying, “That’s Madonna under the bed trying to do ‘Like A Virgin’ at 63. She shot out, if she don’t get her old ass up.” Two months prior to that, he compared Lil Kim to the character from the movie Leprechaun.

50 Cent apologized to Madonna in a now-deleted tweet.

In short, perhaps we should just stop making comments about people’s bodies!
