Rapper 50 Cent clarified in a post on social media that his recent 40-pound weight loss came from rigorous workouts, not Ozempic.
Earlier, a photo of his slimmer self sparked diverse reactions, with some humorously commenting on his transformation. Two years prior, he faced criticism for weight gain after his Super Bowl performance.
Responding on Instagram, 50 Cent found the teasing amusing, asserting that he’s unashamed of his weight.
50 Cent Claims His Weight Loss Was Not Because Of Ozempic
In a recent Instagram Stories post, 50 Cent addressed rumors about his significant weight loss, clarifying that his 40-pound weight loss resulted from intense gym workouts, not Ozempic use.
Seated in a vehicle sporting a Los Angeles Dodgers cap, the “Candy Shop” rapper responded to the speculations while addressing his 30.8 million followers. He said: “You want to talk about weight loss? I was in the gym; I was working the f— out, man.”
He added: “They’re gonna says it’s Ozempic; I was running, I was running, I was doing what I had to do, you’ve seen me on tour, I run around.”
Emphasizing his physical efforts and weight loss from 253 to 210 pounds, the 48-year-old added, “I was 253 pounds, I’ve come down, I’m 210 right now – tell me how you feel about it; you tell me how you feel about it later.”
Social Media Reacts To New Photos Of The Rapper
50 Cent’s Instagram Story posts came after he got a flurry of reactions to an earlier post where he shared a photo of himself looking slimmer and donning a blazer, jeans, and white sneakers. In the caption of the post, he wrote: “GreenLightGang 2024. I’m gonna shake things up. Time to work, let’s get it!”
In the comment section, users responded with one humorously writing: “N—- just a quarter now.”
A second person defended the rapper, saying: “This is a perfect example of a man wanting to be healthy. It’s not appreciated. People are so judgmental.”
A third noted: “What’s crazy is everyone said after Chad Bostwick’s death, y’all would be more respectful of people [because you] never know what they are battling and why they are losing weight, but here y’all are in these comments talking so crazy, and yet again y’all have no idea what 50 got going on.”
“Ozempic takes another, but I like Teddy Bear 50,” a fourth added.
However, according to a source who spoke to Page Six, 50 Cent’s weight loss is not attributed to Ozempic use. Instead, the insider claimed it resulted from an intensive eight-month training regimen involving “three hours a day,” gym sessions “every day.”
The insider added that the rapper, gearing up for his “Final Lap” tour that started in July, was dedicated to his fitness journey during this period.
50 Cent Slams Fat-Shaming Trolls
Approximately two years ago, 50 Cent faced social media ridicule for his weight gain during his Super Bowl LVI halftime show performance on February 13, 2022, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
As part of a star-studded rap lineup, including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent performed a segment suspended upside down, reminiscent of his 2003 “In Da Club” music video.
However, trolls took to social media with comments on his appearance, with one writing: “50 Cent got fat, now he a dollar.” Another added that the Grammy-winning rapper is “out here looking like a fat BAT.”
However, the business mogul hit back at the trolls and responded on Instagram, asserting that he found the “teasing” amusing. He explained, per Daily Mail: “I call this teasing me, They’re just teasing me because they know I can drop the weight. That’s why I laugh with them. Fat shaming only applies when you’re ashamed of your fat. LOL.”
50 Cent Shares His Workout Plan
Before his recently concluded “Final Lap Tour,” 50 Cent had previously expressed his commitment to improving his fitness.
During an Instagram Live session last May, the rapper shared his workout plan and emphasized the need to get in shape.
“We gonna do the tour and stuff like that, right? So I’m back working out like that.” He said, per HipHopdx. “I always work out, but it’s different when I gotta start running and all that s—. Matter of fact, I’m a show y’all [on] Live every day. Yeah, I’m a do five miles in front of ’em every day.”
50 Cent added: “You gonna see me come back down. I’ll lose at least 25 pounds before [the tour]. I’ll be back in dog shape before I go. I’ll start talking mad s— when I’m back in shape. That’s why I be wanting to fight and s— like that, on the low.”
