Amazon Prime is proving itself a worthy adversary to other streaming services and networks. The popular network recently released a hit new show called “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” and a slew of new faces to get to know with the release. The teenage drama is making some unknown people pretty famous (we’re getting Outer Banks vibes), and Gavin Casalegno is one of them. The young actor is the new Jeremiah. The real question, however, is whether the actor is as loveable as his new character.

1. Gavin Casalegno is a Texan

He’s a native Texan, bringing the truth to the statement that everything is bigger in Texas. No one knew who he was before he took on this role, and now he’s well on his way to becoming a household name. His career is taking off, and he is no longer in Texas.

2. He Grew Huge in No Time

Many people spend years of their lives gaining followers on social media networks. They work, post, and solicit followers like it is their job – mainly because they want it to be their job as influencing pays big-time – and he did it in a matter of weeks. Gavin Casalegno went from not many followers to more than 1 million followers in a matter of weeks. He now has more than 2.2 million. It’s all because of his new role.

3. He’s Dealing with a Lot of Stress

Casalegno is dealing with major stress but views it as mostly good stress. He’s not a man who is worried too much about what’s happening in his life, but he is excited. It is all different and new to him, and he needs a lot of time, effort, and energy to focus on it. But, it’s all good. He is working on dealing with the good stress, so he doesn’t have to deal with the bad stress.

4. He’s Looking for Balance

Balance is not something we always feel exists. You can work on it as much as you want. You can work on it as often as you want, but balance is challenging to find. You’re always worried about something else when you’re in the moment. He’s a young man, but he’s aware that he has to find a balance that works for him now, and he’s doing his best. It won’t always be easy, but finding a relatively decent balance will make it easier.

5. He Is a Loveable Guy

Gavin Casalegno says that his character was written for him. He is so much like the man he portrays on television. He describes himself as a golden retriever guy, and we feel it. It works for him. He loved being able to show so much of his own personality on the show, but he is also appreciative of the deeper side of his character.

6. Work Felt Like Summer Vacation

While filming his hit new show, he felt like he was on summer vacation. They filmed in a beach town in North Carolina – where so many shows film these days. He said there was always something to do, somewhere to go, and other kids to hang out with. He loved it. The experience was exceptional.

7. He Was A Loner Growing Up

Don’t feel too bad for Gavin Casalegno, though. He didn’t grow up ostracized. He was the kind of kid who was friendly with everyone in school. He simply did not have a specific group, and he spent much of his time alone and on his own. The point, however, is that he enjoyed that time. He had many acquaintances, but he did not have many friends.

8. His Youth Pastor Encouraged his Future

He spent much time in church as a child, which was a good time for him. He and his family were there regularly, and his youth pastor told his parents he should go into the show business industry. Specifically, his youth pastor recommended modeling. Lo and behold, things worked out, and he’s famous now.

9. He Was Insecure as a Teen

It’s difficult to imagine this handsome young man being insecure, but he was. It was his height that bothered him. He was short. Well, he was shorter than most of the kids in school when he was in high school, and he didn’t love it. He was only 5’8, but he went through a quick growth spurt. By the time he was a sophomore, he was 6’2, and his confidence grew with him.

10. His Summers Growing Up Were Not At All Fancy

You might imagine he spent his childhood summers doing fancy things with his family, but they did not. They loved to camp. It was their summer tradition to go on a big camping trip. He loved it, looked forward to it, and was all about it.
