New York City is the concrete jungle where dreams are made of. There’s truly nothing you can’t do in the Big Apple. In fact, if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. Alright, I’m done with the catchphrases. But they truly do apply in just about any situation, even years into an apocalypse. In The Walking Dead: Dead City’s season two trailer, there are quite a few villains all vying to bring the city back and make their own agendas come to fruition.
That includes Negan, who is back with a new Lucille, and Maggie, who returns to the city for more action. We even see Herschel deeper in the mix. Hopefully he’s not putting too much energy into being a whiny teen.
We catch back up with last season’s villains, The Croat and his boss The Dama. They plan to restore the city and bring back some order through power. And that means literally turning the lights back on using fuel from liquidated walker bodies, which give off lots of gas. It is gross but it makes a lot of sense. Their endeavor isn’t necessarily impossible, considering what we saw at the Civic Republic in The Ones Who Live.
But that’s going to be pretty hard with Brugel, who is a gang leader in NYC. He looks and dresses like a founding father and will probably be a pain to everyone. Maggie is with Pearlie and the New Babylon Federation, who want to also bring back Manhattan in a different way. She also wants to take The Dama down for targeting and hurting Herschel in the previous season. Negan is unwillingly in the mix with The Croat and The Dama; however, it seems he’s liking the idea of having that kind of power again.

At least, he’s playing the role quite well in this Dead City trailer. There’s an ulterior motive for sure, especially considering how he’s not upset to see Maggie again. In fact, Maggie and Negan are ready to team up and fight the powers that be. It’s something that no Walking Dead fan ever saw coming. The Walking Dead: Dead City season two will hit AMC and AMC+ on May 4.
