Ex Price is Right producer reveals show has ‘system in place’ if overexcited contestant ‘pees their pants’ on stage

When Bob Barker hosted The Price Is Right, there were system protocols for overexcited contestants in case they wet themselves

A FORMER producer on The Price is Right has revealed the game show’s protocols in case an unsanitary event occurs on set.

When the late Bob Barker exited The Price is Right in June 2007, ex-producer Mike Richards transitioned with the show when Drew Carey, 65, took over as host in July of that same year.

In a wild interview with People in late March, Mke revealed there were system protocols already in place for overexcited contestants.

The crew supposedly knew what to do if an over-enthusiastic contestant wet their pants if their name was called to come up and play.

“When I got there, they had a system in place in case someone peed their pants,” Mike shared.

“I never saw it happen, but there were curtains and a blow dryer and a pair of sweats just in case since we’d have to get on with the show.”

THE PRICE YOU PAY

Also in the same interview, Mike opened up about being ousted as the initial replacement for the late Alex Trebek on Jeopardy!

In August 2021, Mike was expected to become the new permanent host of the show’s mainstay version, while actress Mayim Bialik, 48, would host prime-time specials and spinoffs.

However, he was dropped from the hosting gig over accusations of workplace discrimination and the insensitive comments he made on a 2013 podcast.

His comments about a presenter on the Price is Right led to a lawsuit.

“Go figure, I fire five models. What are the odds one of the ones that I keep gets pregnant?” he reportedly said.

While speaking to the outlet, the ex-Jeopardy! producer recalled how the investigation from the anti-defamation league left him reeling.

“Everyone was like, ‘Oh he’s just a horrible person.’ It was the price you pay for getting thrust into the zeitgeist in a very inopportune moment,” Mike admitted.

“I felt like there was this rush to judgment, and a lot of people got joy in saying, ‘I got you.'”

In the summer of 2021, Ken Jennings, 49, and Mayim were named co-hosts for Season 39 of Jeopardy!.

OFF THE AIR!

Despite system protocols being set in case a contest pees itself, the popular game show was abruptly taken off the air last Friday.

At 10:23 in the morning, New York was rocked by a 4.8 magnitude earthquake, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake rattled across seven other states: New JerseyPennsylvaniaMassachusettsMaineBaltimoreConnecticut, and New Hampshire.

The epicenter was reported in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, about an hour west of the City That Never Sleeps.

In an online thread, viewers claimed the program was preempted due to special news reports.

Although there were no major impacts from the quake, fans were expecting their show to be put right back on.

“Yes, I felt the rumble. No, I don’t need the news interviewing random people to ask them if they felt the shake,” an upset viewer ranted.

“I never understood that. There are no reports of major damage. There is no danger. Just put a crawl at the bottom,” another upset viewer added.
