ATLANTA based rapper Hunxho has taken the US hip hop scene by storm in the past few years.

But he has faced recent rumours saying he was involved in a fatal shooting despite them being completely fake and him being alive and well.

Who is Hunxho?

Hunxho – or Ibrahim Muhammad Dodo – is a hugely successful rapper from Atlanta.

Born on June, 20, 1999, the 24-year-old is most well-known for his hit song “Let’s Get It” after it was remixed by global icon 21 Savage.

He has over 1.2million monthly listeners on Spotify and is described as being known for his “laidback rhymes and silky harmonies as charisma drives his seamless balance of provocative hip-hop and bedroomready R&B”.

His other huge songs include “Your Friends” featuring superstar Summer Walker and “By Tomorrow”.

Hunxho has been rapping since 2018 when he was still a teenager and has gone on to release seven EPs including his most recent 2023 tape “For Her”.

He is due to start his US tour on March, 1, in Milwaukee.

Why is ‘Hunxho still alive’ trending?

The rapper was falsely identified as one of the men killed in a shooting in Georgia on Sunday, 25.

This led to hundreds of his fans mourning the devastating loss online before it was revealed he was fine and hadn’t been affected by the shooting.

They then collectively posted more comments and made the term “Hunxho still alive” trend across social media.

Several news outlets in the US named the rapper as one of the shooting victims despite him being safe and completely unharmed.

One news story even wrote: “His death comes as a shock to fans and fellow artists alike, who had high hopes for his promising career.

“The tragic incident occurred on the GSU campus, where Hunxho was allegedly shot.”

An image of a man who had been shot in the horror incident even managed to circulate on X, formerly known as Twitter, with several users saying it was Hunxho in the picture.

What has Hunxho said about the death hoax?

Hunxho quickly shut down any fake rumors around his death by posting a selfie on X on the same day as the shooting.

He captioned the photo: “Stop Y’all.”

Although not directly addressing the hoax, many have thought its clearly linked to the false claims.

He has since deleted the post.

Hunxho’s social media is full of cryptic posts leaving fans wondering what he means most of the time.

His most recent message on X says “I’m Still Human” and was posted on Sunday 25.

Fans flocked to the comments section to show their concern over the posts and reports they had been seeing.

One said: “Hunxho is u alive? They keep saying u got shot and killed bro.”

As a second put: “This better not be you in this dang picture.”

Before a third simply asked: “Are you alive?????”
