Ariana, 30, released her newest single, Yes, and?, on Friday ahead of her forthcoming album.
Although the track has received a lot of praise already, some fans have examined the lyrics at a closer level.
Right before the final chorus, the Nickelodeon alum sings, “Your business is yours and mine is mine, why do you care so much whose d**k I ride?”
FAN BACKLASH
Critics took to social media where many accused her of referring to her current relationship with Ethan, who was still married to his ex-wife Lilly Jay when they began dating.

“Ofc it matters. U riding someone else husband,” one claimed.
“Well, because the d you rode was married and with a child soooo you can’t really expect people to not talk about that,” a second accused, mentioning how Ethan and Lilly recently welcomed their first child in 2022.
“Someone get this albino woman a PR rep stat. Close ya legs to married men,” a third ripped.
“Prob matters cause it was someone’s husband ? Is she that oblivious?” a fourth trolled.
“I Lost all my respect for this lady..” a fifth noted.
“I love my girly but just no… my eyes went wide & my mouth dropped.
“I understand she was already separated but it doesn’t seem like her new beau was. I’m not going to hate on her cause that’s clearly not going to do anything but that line doesn’t sit right with me.
“She’s talented but her character is questionable at times,” another explained.
CONTROVERSIAL RELATIONSHIP
Back in July, the news broke that Ariana was dating her Wicked co-star Ethan shortly after her split with her ex-husband Dalton Gomez.
Sources told TMZ that the pop star and the actor got together during the production of their musical film.
In March, the new couple was spotted next to each other as the cast of Wicked celebrated the Oscars in London.
Since 2018, the Fosse/Verdon star has been married to Australian singer Lilly Jay, 29.
The Spongebob star and the Girl U Deserve singer welcomed a son in 2022.
Sources told the outlet that Ariana and Ethan did not start dating until after he separated from Lilly.
DIFFICULT DIVORCE
Ethan’s divorce, meanwhile, is getting ugly.
His estranged wife has filed her own divorce papers against the theatre star.
She filed for divorce in Ithaca, New York, after roughly five years of marriage.
The complaint is sealed but the case docket lists their divorce as “contested.”
Lilly filed just six days after Ethan filed a petition for divorce in New York City.
The exes had been living there with their young son until their split.
END OF THE ROAD
Ariana, meanwhile, has been working on dissolving her marriage to ex-husband Dalton Gomez.
The pair was officially granted a divorce in October, with a judge ordering the Everyday singer to pay millions to her former partner.
TMZ reported that the divorce was pretty straightforward.
The couple had an iron-clad prenup that protected both of them.
Ariana is expected to pay $1,250,000 to Dalton.
He will also receive half of the proceeds from the sale of the Los Angeles mansion they shared.
The actress will also cover $25,000 in Dalton’s attorney fees.
A source told the outlet: “There is still a strong mutual love and respect between Ariana and Dalton and they wanted to make sure everything was done right in lockstep with one another.”
