Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet are great friends; the duo is returning as Chani and Paul in Dune: Part Two. The film has received rave reviews from the critics. The sequel has brought in Austin Butler and Florence Pugh to be part of the ensemble cast. The first part was rereleased this month and did pretty good business at the box office in just a few days.
The films have been directed by Denis Villeneuve, and there has also been news of Dune 3 ahead of the release of the second installment. They are based on Frank Herbert’s book of the same name. The Spider-Man: No Way Home actress reportedly had a seven-minute role in the 2021 movie. Zendaya once, in an interview with W Magazine, recalled the terrifying experience during Dune: Part One’s audition. She told the magazine, “I had just gotten my wisdom teeth taken out.” She described her feelings ahead of the auditions further.
Zendaya continued, “My biggest fear was that my mouth would be vile, and then I would have to do a scene with Timothée where we have to be really close, and he would smell my possible dry socket breath.” For the unversed, the actress reportedly received a staggering $300K for her seven-minute role. The actress has allegedly got a whopping $2 million for reprising the role of Chani in the second installment.
She spoke about the incident on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and said, “That was my biggest fear, is that if I get this dry socket thing, what if I have this horrible breath, and I come to the meeting, and we have these intimate scenes between Chani and Paul… and my breath is just reeking.” After this month’s rerelease, Dune has increased its global collections to $433 million.
The duo is stealing hearts with their fashion sense in their Dune: Part Two’s promotions. They sported matching jumpsuits with zip details.
