TEEN Mom Leah Messer’s daughter reached a major milestone in her health battle.
The teen was diagnosed with Titin Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy and often relies on a wheelchair to support her due to muscle weakness.
Leah shares her daughter Ali with her ex-husband Corey Simms.
Corey’s dad posted an update about his Granddaughter on his Instagram.
The post featured 2 photos of Ali taken 10 years apart.
In the first throwback photo, the young star posed while standing next to a huge squirrel in a hospital.
In the second photo, Ali sat in a wheelchair in a similar hospital waiting room.
She wore a pair of gray leggings and white tie dye hooded sweatshirt.
Ali smiled widely at the camera and held a phone in her hand.
“Ali has been a patient here for 10 years! So blessed with her progress,” the photo was captioned.
HEALTH BATTLES
Ali has been under doctor’s care since her diagnosis in 2014.
MTV viewers first learned about the teen’s diagnosis on 16 & Pregnant and have been following along for more than a decade since.
Tintin Myotonic MD is a rare form of progressive weakness disease that had existed in less than 20 cases around the world at the time of her diagnosis.
Leah has taken fans along her daughter’s health journey with several social media updates.
FAMILY OUTING
This latest update came after fans were left emotional after Leah shared a video online.
Leah posted a sweet tribute to Ali and her twin sister, Aleeah, in honor of the girls’ 14th birthday.
Ali rocked a red Christmas sweater and her brown curls in a braid and walked through a mall without using her wheelchair.
“Happy 14th Birthday Ali & Aleeah!!” Leah captioned the Instagram post.
“I wanna cry watching this. I’m on season seven now so seeing her walking today has made my whole world. Happy Birthday to both of you beauties,” one fan wrote in the comments.
“Oh my God, I’m crying!!” another echoed.
