With no new major release from Bollywood and even Hollywood not challenging its run either, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire made the most of some of the most premium screens at its disposal. The film has been doing well not just in English but also in Hindi and other regional languages, as a result of which it’s getting around half the business, each coming from English and non-English categories.

On Saturday, the Monsterverse film saw a big jump in collections, with 5.70 crore more coming in. On Friday, the film netted 3 crore, and that too without any sort of offer running on ticket sales. Though last Saturday the film didn’t quite go berserk, the collections still showed an upswing, which was good.

They had stayed in the double-digit zone right through the weekend, and then during the weekdays, too, they stayed stable, and that’s about it. However, what is happening this weekend is much better.

This has been enough, too, for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which has done its job already and exceeded expectations. Released three years back, Godzilla vs Kong had netted 46.58 crore in its lifetime, and here, the next in the franchise has surpassed that number by more than 15 crore already, and that too in just 9 days. Currently standing at 63 crore, the Hollywood biggie has now built its case for emerging as a 100 Crore Club entrant in India as well over the next few weeks.
