Streaming superstar IShowSpeed wants to buy a piece of an MLS club alongside MrBeast. Yet, it could happen sooner than you think.
Since starting out in the streaming game, a lot of IShowSpeed’s content has centred around football – or soccer. He used to play FIFA/EA SPORTS FC quite a bit, he’s linked up with professional players on stream, and he is always wearing a customized shirt during his IRL broadcasts.
He has gotten involved on the pitch, too. Speed regularly plays in charity matches – including captaining YouTube All-Stars in the Sidemen Charity Match – and even tried his hand in the Baller League.
Even though his dream might be to own whichever football club that his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, plays for, Speed is eying up ownership in the MLS.
IShowSpeed wants to buy MLS team with MrBeast
During his appearance at the MLS All-Star weekend in Austin, Texas, Speed was asked about investing in a club alongside a fellow creator. He didn’t blink when it came to naming Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson.
“MrBeast! Me and MrBeast can invest in one of these MLS teams in 50 years from now,” he told Front Office Sports. However, he quickly changed that timeline.
“No, not even 50 years from now, 20 years from now! We would be pretty set.”
While they may not have the price tag of clubs in Europe, MLS clubs are still highly valuable. Forbes has Los Angeles FC as the most valuable with a price tag of around $1.25 billion.
MrBeast’s local team, Charlotte FC, are the 12th most valuable, having a price tag of around $700 million.
Like Speed, the YouTube superstar is a football fan, linking up with Ronaldo and Neymar for videos. He has also played in quite a few Sidemen Charity Matches, and watched Lionel Messi play for Inter Miami.
MrBeast has been trying to raise a fair bit of cash, in the hundreds of millions range, for his business empire. Yet, who knows if he’ll make Speed’s dream come true.
