Anyone But You is one of the most discussed movies of the last two months. The romantic comedy was released in December 2023, but the audience can’t stop talking about it. Whether it’s the chemistry, the story, the behind-the-scenes banter between the lead actors or the steamy scenes, everything is getting significant attention. The Will Gluck directorial stars Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell in the lead roles.
The rom-com is loosely based on William Shakespeare’s play Much Ado About Nothing. Ilana Wolpert co-wrote the screenplay with Will. The movie received a mixed response from the critics. But as mentioned above, the audience can’t get enough of the romantic comedy.
Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell’s Anyone But You has a gratifying ending for their characters, Bea and Ben. Yet, there have been rumours about the possibility of a sequel. Recently, during the premiere of Sydney’s Madame Web movie, the actress was asked if there are plans for Anyone But You 2, considering the success of part 1.
The Euphoria actress answered, “Maybe. I can’t actually reveal all of my secrets. But Glen and I—I mean I was talking to him this morning. We’re talking about stuff.” When the reporter asked if the “stuff” is a sequel, Sydney stated, “You never know, you’ll have to wait and see.”

Glen replied with four emojis in the comments section of the same video. The Anyone But You actor used an emoji with a zipper on the mouth. Anyone familiar with this emoji knows it is used to indicate silence or to keep a secret. Is Glen also hinting at the possibility of a sequel but not wanting to give out the secret? We will have to wait until the actors officially make an announcement.
Meanwhile, the rom-com also stars Alexandra Shipp, GaTa, Hadley Robinson, Michelle Hurd, Darren Barnet, Dermot Mulroney, Rachel Griffiths, Bryan Brown and Charlee Fraser. As of February 17, the film made a worldwide box office collection of $172 million. Furthermore, Sydney’s Madame Web movie is receiving a majorly negative response from critics and moviegoers. The superhero film also stars Dakota Johnson, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Celeste O’Connor, Adam Scott and Emma Roberts.
