After a fantastic weekend when the collections went on an upswing, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire held well on Monday with 2.25 crores coming in. The film had brought in 3.80 crores on Friday and that was a partial holiday. Taking that into consideration, the film has still seen only around 40% drop and that’s good.
The film is in its second week and this goes on to show that it would continue to have a long run now because the collections have started normalising on good levels. Yes, there will be a jerk felt in the Eid weekend due to arrival of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan. However post that the Hollywood film will get back to its game and collections will continue to trickle.
Still, the collections could have been more but will beg impacted because premium IMAX screens will go to the new telesales and then the impact would be felt in a big way on the 3D screens as well since Bade Miyan Chote Moyan is also targeting those. That said, 100 crores is now a reality for the biggie which currently stands at 71.85 crores and it would be comfortably past the 75 crores mark before competition arrives this Friday.
