General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Matt Cohen (ex-Griffin Munro) was part of some layoffs that affected Entertainment Tonight recently. Cohen has been co-anchoring the weekend edition of ET and has served as a weekday correspondent as well, but he was let go from his position.
However, ET’s loss could be GH’s gain if they decide to snatch Cohen up again. Could this lead to Matt Cohen returning as Griffin Munro down the road?
The show certainly hasn’t forgotten about Griffin since they gave a fun nod to him back in December 2022.
During Damian Spinelli’s (Bradford Anderson) visit to Ellie Trout (Emily Wilson), she mentioned having a new suitor in her life who was from Port Charles. Later, Ellie got a phone call, which featured Griffin Munro on the caller ID.
Of course, Ellie and Griffin’s romance was obviously still in the early stages based on her comments about it.
There’s no guarantee that things worked out, so that could open the door to Griffin coming back to Port Charles and finding love with someone else.
On social media, many fans are already rooting for Griffin to return and steal Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) heart.
Liz and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) seem like such a terrible mismatch, so anything would be an improvement!
Griffin could start by returning to Port Charles to consult on a particularly difficult medical case, but that could perhaps turn into another full-time position at the hospital.
It’d be exciting to see Griffin back in the mix and interacting with some familiar faces.
Naturally, there’d be other romantic possibilities for Griffin besides Liz, so the show has some great reasons to put him on canvas again.
Regardless, this Entertainment Tonight firing news offers some hope for Griffin’s future at GH depending on how things play out.
