Po returns with his goofiness and is tasked by Master Shifu to train further and become the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace in Kung Fu Panda 4. Jack Black mesmerized the audience with his fantastic voice acting, and the results showed at the film’s box office as it reached a significant milestone. Directed by Mike Mitchell, it was released earlier this month.
This is the fourth installment in this franchise, and the third part was released in 2016. The martial arts animated comedy films have entertained the audience, especially the young ones, since 2008. Hollywood stars like Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, and others have been a part of the franchise. Jolie voiced the character of Tigress. The franchise is over $2 billion now, thanks to the 4th installment’s impressive earnings.
As per trade analyst Luiz Ferbnando’s report, Jack Black‘s Kung Fu Panda 4 has crossed the $250 million mark. After earning $132.9 million cume in the US, it now stands at $267.6 million cume. It shall make $300 million this weekend. For the unversed, Dreamworks Animation has produced it and distributed it by Universal Pictures. It has other animated films, including The Croods [$215.9 million], Lightyear [$226.4 million], and Encanto’s [$256.8 million] run at the worldwide box office.
Kung Fu Panda ranked third on the top five list at the domestic box office, beaten by Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and Dune 2 in the first and second spots. The film has grossed $55 million on its third weekend, including $26 million at the Chinese box office on its debut.
As per the trade analyst, the movie targets a $550-$600 million run at the global box office. Here’s how much the previous films have earned worldwide.
