Cosynd is making moves into the streaming space with a copyright registration deal for SoundCloud users.

Cosynd, a platform for copyright protection, has announced an expanded collaboration with SoundCloud. The partnership provides SoundCloud users with access to Cosynd’s copyright registration and ownership tools.

The initiative aims to enable SoundCloud’s global community of over 40 million artists to register content with the U.S. Copyright Office and create agreements for defining ownership with collaborators. Cosynd’s tools are designed to assist creators in establishing a legal foundation for their work.

“Copyright registration acts as the backbone of our industry by enabling lawsuits and collective bargaining,” said Jessica Sobhraj, CEO and co-founder of Cosynd. “In an era where AI, synthetic content, and copyright laundering are dramatically displacing income streams for creators, copyright protection isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.”

Through this collaboration, SoundCloud users can access Cosynd’s copyright tools at a reduced rate. This provides a mechanism for artists to address issues such as unauthorized content use. Copyright registration enables artists to build the legal foundation necessary to take action against infringement, block unauthorized AI training, protect income streams, and control how their work is shared and monetized.

With this update, SoundCloud becomes the first major global music platform to offer copyright protection directly into the core artist experience, ushering in a new standard for creator support. Since its start in 2007, SoundCloud has proudly called itself an artist-first platform. It empowers artists to build and grow their careers by providing them with the most progressive tools, services, and resources.

Cosynd is the leading platform for creators and businesses to protect their original content quickly and affordably. With a suite of easy-to-use copyright tools, Cosynd streamlines essential legal processes, allowing users to create, negotiate, redline, and sign agreements that secure their rights. At the same time, they can seamlessly register their copyrights with the U.S. Copyright Office. Trusted by thousands of copyright owners across more than 160 countries, Cosynd transforms what was once a complex and expensive process into an accessible, cost-effective solution.
