Nolan’s movie has accumulated $5.5 million in Japan, taking the overseas total to $640.1 million, trumping the director’s The Dark Knight Rises’ international collection by a significant margin.
The Dark Knight Rises was Christopher Nolan’s highest-earning movie in the international box office for the past 12 years, but it has now changed. It collected $634 million overseas. Meanwhile, the recent collections from Japan have taken the gross total of Oppenheimer to $970 million globally.
