Yolanda declared herself “queen of lemons” in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. She revealed that every day she drinks a glass of hot water with half a lemon, which “alkalizes the gut,” cleanses, and provides the nutrients she needs to start the day.
Yolanda maintains an incredibly healthy diet, detailing her menu to Harper’s Bazaar. She fuels up in the morning with a bowl of oatmeal with a dollop of organic butter, a handful of slivered almonds, chopped strawberries, organic honey, and a small packet of Stevia. For lunch she eats a salad with seasonal veggies topped with protein. She likes arugula, curried chicken salad, brussels sprouts, and cranberries with olive oil and honey vinaigrette. For an afternoon snack she sips on a goat milk latte made with cardamom and cinnamon and a spoonful of honey. Dinner is her smallest meal of the day. She likes chicken broth based vegetable soup with chopped garlic, carrots, onions, celery, zucchini, and baby kale.
Yolanda is all about the occasional cheat meal.”I’m no saint—I love pizza, sweets and wine as much as everyone else, but I have such sensitivities to these foods that it’s almost not worth the price to pay. However, I do indulge once in a while because I believe we should enjoy everything, as long as it’s in moderation,” she told Nine Honey.
“I am definitely convinced that you are what you eat, and that food is thy medicine. I have learned that some foods severely affected my fatigue, joint pain and inflammation,” Yolanda explained to Nine Honey. “I try to eat a lot of organic vegetables because pesticides that are sprayed on conventional produce can be toxic and affect the immune system. Veggies contain a lot of important antioxidants and fibers.”
Yolanda maintains an incredibly active lifestyle. In the past she has shared photos of her workouts, which include boxing and strength training. She also is active outdoors, regularly riding her bike, riding horses, and going for walks.
