When it comes to losing weight and staying in shape, Humes tells Heat Magazine that she opts for methods that are sustainable. She says that she doesn’t go on restrictive diets because she can never keep them up, and has had bad experiences. “I’ve never been that person who’s into dieting, because I can’t sustain it. I did a diet once and it was awful and made me miserable – I would never do it again.”

Humes tells Hello! Magazine that she usually eats pretty healthy. She says that one of the most important things to her is knowing where her food comes from. “I’m a fan of eating what you want as long as it’s good for you and you know where it’s from,” she said. Humes says that she mostly eats organic food for this reason. “I’m really into organic and healthy food, but I’ve never believed in eating no cards or no fat.”

Humes has three kids, and she wants to set a good example for them. Having two daughters, Humes wants to teach them to practice healthy habits, and not be insecure with their bodies. In the 2019 Women’s Health panel, Humes said, “Having two girls I am very conscious of having a healthy body image. My mum the other day said in front of my kids that she was going to go on a diet – and I don’t want that around them, so I asked her to stop.”

Humes told GetTheGloss.com that she is a big fan of Pilates, and has tried to get her husband to join her at a session. “Pilates is my favourite way to exercise – I love the ability to zone out and work on my strength. I try to fit this in as much as I can, I even managed to drag Marvin with me once, although he’s not been back since he realised how challenging it is!” “Pilates-based exercises performed along with standard exercise programs were more effective for improving balance and quality of life than standard exercise programs alone,” says one study.

Humes says that she is working on not spending time on her phone before she goes to sleep. She tells GetTheGloss.com that she doesn’t keep her phone near her bed anymore, and that this has helped her sleep better. “The best advice I’ve received recently has been to leave my phone outside of my bedroom at night. Instead, I only keep a notepad and pen on my bedside table – which comes into action if I have a thought I want to remember. It’s really helped me change my routine – not checking my phone first thing in the morning and before I go to bed has improved my sleep.”
