Pilar Rubio is basking in the sun during the final weeks of summer, showing off her body in a swimsuit. The Spanish star wears a light purple bathing suit in her latest social media post, looking fabulously fit at 44. “Summer, please don’t go yet… ☀️ And you, do you prefer the hot months or the cold months?” she captioned the Instagram post. Pilar dished to Real Madrid Family that she maintains a healthy diet and eats consistently. “I always try to eat breakfast at the same time and try to find time in the morning to stretch,” she said. “I’m used to eating healthy. I understand healthy food as fruit and vegetables, but also meat and fish.” Her favorite meal? “Sorry but I love the salads … But very diverse, one day couscous, another day lentils … then green peas.” And, her guilty pleasure? “I also love the burgers.” 

Pilar works out almost every day that ends in “y.” She has said that she exercises five to six days per week, doing a lot of strength and weight training workouts to keep herself strong and lean. She does pilates, swims, and chases after her kids. “I also exercise pelvic muscles,” she once said.

Pilar is so busy that she doesn’t get a lot of sleep. “I don’t know how to do it anymore, really,” she once said about getting eight hours of slumber. “I get overwhelmed … In the end I start doing things and sleep three, four hours.”

Pilar revealed to Real Madrid Family that she uses an equation when it comes to calories. “The secret is to find a balance between what you eat and what you burn,” she said. “You have to burn everything you eat: this is the secret.”

Pilar has her very own diet and fitness method and has even published a book about it.. In an interview with the Pledge Times she revealed the five pillars of the Rubio method: “Rest, training, nutrition, physiological knowledge and, above all, mind.”
