Larsa Pippin, 49, is used to being the center of drama. The Real Housewives of Miami star made waves for her falling out with Kim Kardashian in 2020. She also dominated headlines for rumored affairs with Future and Tristan Thompson and of course when she started dating Marcus Jordan, 32, after her high-profile divorce from NBA legend Scottie Pippin. But the reality star doesn’t pay attention to the scrutiny. What she does take seriously however is her diet and fitness. The mom of four is the queen of sizzling Instagram pics and recently posted a pic of herself playing golf wearing a revealing black sports bra and matching short skirt. We take a closer look at how the TV personality stays in such great shape. Read on.
In an Instagram post from 2020, Pippin shared her diet philosophy. “Being fit is 80 percent diet and 20 percent exercise- you can’t outrun your fork.”
In an interview with Hollywood Life, Pippin explained why portion control is the best method for her. “I don’t think you can sustain that keto diet or the Atkins Diet,” she said about the popular low-carb plans. “Personally, I don’t feel like those work. For me, it’s more about eating healthy and portion control. That’s the only thing that lasts forever.”
The jewelry designer shares four children with her ex-husband, Scottie Pippen, and she includes them all in her workouts. “Me and my kids work out together every day,” she told Us Weekly.
The fitness enthusiast doesn’t jump on the latest diet craze and told Hollywood Life, “If you want to lose a couple of pounds, you have to eat a little bit less,” She added, “That’s the only thing that’s gonna work for life because you can do all these diets, you can start them, but I don’t feel like you can live that [way] forever. When you stop doing these diets and you go back to what you normally are used to, you’re going to have the same results that you had before. It’s a lifestyle of balance – eating right, feeling good about yourself, and working out for your mind, your body, and your soul. It’s all connected.”
To help ensure her family eats healthy, Pippen meal preps. “I’m really big on prepping what you eat for the whole week,” she told the outlet “I cook every day for my kids. I have a menu that I draw up [for] all week so I know what we’re gonna eat. If you’re prepared like that you tend to eat healthier, as opposed to not knowing what you’re gonna eat and then you end up eating junk.”
Pippen shared what she typically eats in a day and revealed she has carbs in the morning and afternoon. “Today, I made oatmeal with a little bit of brown sugar, raisins, and walnuts for breakfast,” she told Hollywood Life. “I have salmon, broccoli, and brown rice that I’m going to make for lunch. And then for dinner, I’ll have a salad with chicken breast. I love to eat.”
Pippen follows a clean balanced diet but also knows it’s important to work out as well. She hits the gym five times a week but doesn’t work out longer than 40 minutes, according to Hollywood Life. “What you choose to eat is far more important than the amount of exercise you put in,” she said. “The nutrition aspect helps to provide a balanced lifestyle. You have to do both. You cannot win if you just do one or the other.”
