Dichen Lachman is a fan favorite, best known for her roles in Altered Carbon, Severance and this year’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. She recently got a workout in, and shared a photo of herself doing so on Instagram. In it, she is seen doing lateral pulldowns. Lachman captioned the photo, “Woke up at 1am nowhere else to go #jetlag cure #hotellife #strenghttraining thank you @ashbaileytrainer I’ll be thinking of you when I’m sore tomorrow #nogymshoesnoproblem.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Dichen Lachman stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

As you can see from her recent Instagram post, Lachman likes to strength train to stay in shape. The Mayo Clinic states that strength training has a lot of benefits. “Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age.”

Lachman opened up about appearing on Altered Carbon to Palm Springs Life. “It’s so refreshing because all of the women are such intricate, complex characters,” Lachman says. “They get to be beautiful and fierce, and they hit back. I think this is largely due to Laeta really wanting to show us off like that, to give us more than just a one-note character.”

Lachman talked about her career in an interview with The Guardian. In it, she talked about the best advice she’s received. “[Neighbours stalwart] Ian Smith always said: ‘Wherever you are in the world, whatever set you end up on, don’t be scared. Just pretend you’re here.’ And I never forgot that.

Lachman shared some of her skincare secrets in an interview with New Beauty. “I’ve worn eye patches on flights before, which is kind of a silly look. I used to love snail slime—that reminds me, I should get some! I think the key is drink lots of water, exercise, and sleep is so important. I never get enough. I was told to get a silk pillowcase and sleep on your back. Sadly, I can’t sleep on my back. It’s such a shame!”

Lachman likes to train in martial arts. She shared this video on Instagram of herself doing so. Naturally Balanced states that martial arts has a lot of benefits. “Depending on the martial art you choose, each will provide you with a wealth of lessons and experiences. Benefits may include: improved discipline, better fitness, enhanced well-being,getting to know your body and its limits.”
