Janvi Kapoor is doing Pilates with Sara Ali Khan. In a new social media post the actress hits the gym with her pal, breaking a sweat in a two-piece workout ensemble. “No excuses, no abuses,” he friends wrote about the Instagram Stories image. How does Kapoor, 27, approach health and wellness? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
In her post, Janhvi does a pilates workout with Sara. She told iDiva it is her favorite workout. “I guess I have made it pretty evident on my social media handles,” she said, adding that she likes that it stretches muscles and strengthens the core. “I think everyone should try doing that,” she added. Why is pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic there are lots of benefits to the workout, as it “strengthens the body’s inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.
Hydration is a priority for Janhvi. According to Times of India, she starts her day with a few glasses of water, with the intention that it will help flush the toxins from her body. The Mayo Clinic recommends this minimum daily intake of water:
- Women — 11.5 cups
- Men — 15.5 cups
“By consuming the minimum recommendation of water, you’re helping your body function better and improving your overall health. Read tips and a recipe if you have difficulty drinking enough water daily,” they say.
Janhvi told iDiva that she does cardio after weight training. “If we do it in the beginning, it uses up much of our energy source for the remaining exercises and fatigues the muscles before the most strenuous activities,” she said.
“I make sure to have a balanced diet as it keeps me fit and at the same time makes me feel energised and full. My diet includes mostly fruits and vegetables and I try to avoid junk food. I start my day with a glass of fresh juice and toast. On certain days, I also like to fix a quick smoothie for myself. Then for lunch, I prefer homemade food like lentils and brown rice. And finally, for dinner, I opt to eat my meal at least 3 hours before going to bed and it usually consists of vegetable soups, dal or boiled veggies,” Janhvi told Indian Express about how she eats.
Instead of skipping workouts when she doesn’t feel like hitting the gym, the star opts for lighter workouts like “jogging, swimming, and simple yoga poses. It is a motivation for me because I know at the end of it all, I feel super energized post workout.”
