Ice Spice kept her cool when the crowd booed “Karma” — her 2023 remix song with Taylor Swift — during her performance at the Rolling Loud music festival in Austria on Sunday.
In a social media clip from the concert, numerous people in the crowd put their thumbs down and booed as the track started to play.
In response, the 24-year-old singer simply blew a kiss to the crowd and carried on with her performance.
Fans responded to the viral video on X (formerly known as Twitter) and showed support for Ice Spice.
“Mother is unbothered as she should,” one fan wrote.
“Ice kept it classy cuz they’re weird for that…,” another person said.
Someone else tweeted, “She kinda ate it with the blowing kiss tho.”
Another reply read, “We love sisters who stick together!”
Swift, 34, originally released “Karma” as the third single from her 2022 album “Midnights.”
She teamed up with Ice Spice for a remix version of the song that came out in May 2023. The pair also performed the song at Swift’s Eras Tour show in New Jersey.
“Collaborating with Ice Spice on ‘Karma’ was one of the most natural things,” Swift said in a Spotify audio clip when the remix came out. “She reached out through her team, just kind of saying, ‘Hey, Ice has been a big fan of Taylor’s since she was a little kid, would love to collaborate if that was ever something that came about.’ ”
“I had been listening to her nonstop, like getting ready for my tour, I was just listening to Ice Spice constantly,” Swift continued. “So I immediately got her number and said, ‘Hey, would you wanna do your version of ‘Karma’? Do you relate to this?’ So she jumped in headfirst.”
Ice Spice revealed to Billboard in March that Swift gave her advice when they collaborated.
“When I was in the studio with Taylor, like, I’ll never forget that. She told me, ‘No matter what, just keep making music and everything’s going to be fine,’ ” she shared.
Swift praised Ice Spice in a statement to Variety last year for the rapper’s cover story.
“I relate to Ice in many ways, but I think her dedication and focus is what blew me away from the very start,” said the “Anti-Hero” singer. “She’s extremely professional without being cold. Playful and fun without ever taking her eye off the prize. She knows what is and isn’t ‘her’ and sets those boundaries with grace.
“She studies the industry and other artists’ careers but is very clear about charting her own definitive, original path. It’s her ability to carefully find that balance that impresses the hell out of me,” Swift added.
At the 2024 BET Awards last month, Ice Spice was asked if Swift will “return the favor” and appear on the “Princess Diana” singer’s upcoming debut album, “Y2K!,” out July 26.
“I think she did me the favor,” Ice Spice said with a laugh during the interview.
She added: “I don’t know. Let’s see, let’s see.”
