Vacation may be over for Halle Bailey, but the young star is still swimsuit clad and dancing around the tropics in spirit. On Thursday, The Little Mermaid star flaunted her fabulous figure in a blue swimsuit while doing a little dance and reminiscing about her recent getaway. “Lol going through my drafts,” she wrote. “I miss vacay.” How does she keep herself so fit? Halle is totally devoted to exercise and has a great workout buddy in the form of her sister, Chloe. In January 2021 she shared their rigorous circuit training routine via an Instagram Story. In it, she and her sister perfectly executed weighted squats, box jumps, weighted side planks, and rotating hollow holds.
Halle also loves to turn up the heat when it comes to exercise. “Hot yoga kicked my ass 🥵,” she captioned this photo of herself taken right after a July sweat session. “Hot yoga has become one of the hottest fitness trends of the past decade. It’s a vigorous form of yoga performed in a very warm, humid studio. Hot yoga is not for everyone. The intensity of the workout and the hot temperatures could cause heat-related illness,” says the Mayo Clinic.
Both Halle and Chloe are vegan. During BuzzFeed’s Sister Test, they dished about their eating habits. Their favorite meat-free dishes, include avocado toast, rice, and bread and sweets such as vegan cheesecake, donuts, and pancakes.They also love smoothies, including this one, which includes raspberries, almond milk, blueberries, apple, agave nectar, and ice. “Fresh veggies are a perfect smoothie addition — they’re an awesome source of vitamins and minerals with very few calories. While they may make your smoothie less sweet, registered dietitian Anna Taylor. says that getting away from too much sweetness in your diet is a worthy goal,” says the Cleveland Clinic.
Halle and Chloe maintain that walking is part of their stay-fit routine. “Every morning we walk our little brother to school. That helps us start our day off nice and refreshed,” they told Teen Vogue. And, when possible, the opt to walk instead of ride in cars. “Having several routes to choose from will add variety to your walking so you don’t get bored. So will inviting friends or family to join you. And they’ll reap the benefits of walking, too,” says the Mayo Clinic. “Walking also has been shown to improve sleep, slow mental decline, lower risk of dementia, lead to a longer life and help the elderly maintain independent living longer.”
Another form of cardio that keeps Halle fit? She and her sister “love to go running, around three times a week,” they told Teen Vogue. “I think most people over the course of a month could go from zero running to 3 miles of running with an adequate progression,” Dr. Chad Asplund, a Mayo Clinic sports medicine physician, told the Mayo Clinic. “I think the best part about running is that it’s a very simple exercise. All you really need is a pair of shoes and the motivation.”
