General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks) and her loved ones are dealing with some devastation right now. On Instagram, McCoy shared some difficult news about a heartbreaking loss in her family.
The grieving GH star started off by admitting it felt “almost performative” to dive into something so personal on social media, but she felt it was the best way to get the word out to people who didn’t know what was going on.
Sadly, Eden McCoy’s mother passed away after fighting an intense cancer battle for two and a half years.
Once McCoy confirmed that her mom has “left us physically,” she spoke from the heart and called her mother the best thing she’d ever known.
McCoy also urged everyone to remember that nothing is promised and hinted that “your life really can change in just a moment.”
With that in mind, McCoy thought back to her mom’s advice and suggested doing everything as if you were doing it for the last time.
“Losing my mother has always been my greatest fear, as I’m sure many of you feel the same, and we have this habit as people of thinking that it will never happen to us. Unfortunately it can, and sometimes it does,” McCoy said in her post.
Although McCoy would do anything for more time with her mother, she’s grateful for the time they did have and shared a photo from their last trip together.
McCoy wrapped things up with a message to her mom and shared her hope that they’d meet each other again someday.
Of course, it wasn’t long until McCoy received condolences from both fans and her co-stars. Everyone wanted to reach out and make sure McCoy felt their support.
“I love you so so much. I am here for you always xo,” Laura Wright (Carly Spencer) said in the comments.
Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) offered sympathy next and said, “so sorry darling it’s all very hard to understand.You just have to keep moving forward.”
Evan Hofer (Dex Heller), Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins), Josh Swickard (Harrison Chase), Sofia Mattsson (Sasha Gilmore) and other fellow cast members also wrote comforting words under McCoy’s post.
This is certainly a crushing blow for Eden McCoy and her family, so our hearts go out to them as they mourn the loss.
