A former McDonald’s employee is blowing people’s minds with secret food hacks that he learned while working there. He claims these tips will make everyone’s meals at the fast food restaurant chain “so much better,” especially if you are a fan of chicken.

“The seasoning for the burger patties is incredible on nuggets or chicken selects,” 20-year-old Jamie Calder told What’s The Jam. “If it’s quiet enough not to be an annoying request, I would highly recommend [asking for it].

“And if you order on the app to collect, you can usually save some time as they’ll start preparing your order before you get to the restaurant (as long as you check in when nearby).”

Speaking of chicken nuggets, a McDonald’s worker on TikTok revealed last year why you should ALWAYS order the 20 piece McNuggets, and NEVER order the 4, 6, or 10 piece McNuggets meal.

What’s with all the beeping?

Calder also shared some insider information about all that beeping you hear coming from the back. He says all that beeping comes from “just about every machine in the kitchen.”

Each beep means something different. There is one for when you an order is placed, another for when french fries are halfway cooked or fully cooked, one for the grills, another for the fryers, and another beep for the drive-thru. “Everything beeps and it’s a nightmare,” he said.

You want fries with that?

He also revealed one of his and other McDonald’s employees’ biggest pet peeves: ordering “no salt” french fries. While placing an order for fries with no salt will get you a fresh batch (another popular food hack), Calder says it “ruins the flow and slows down the process” because employees “have to wipe all the salt off the fry station and fry a new portion just for a customer who is [probably] going to dump two packs of salt on them as soon as you hand them.”

Speaking of McDonald’s french fries, have you ever wondered why they taste so darn good? The reason why only applies in the United States and is bad news for any vegetarians who love Mickey D’s fries.
