Who won Miss America 2023?

As per tradition, last year’s Miss America winner will crown her successor on Sunday, January 14, 2024.

That means Miss America 2023 winner Grace Stanke will crown her successor at the 2024 pageant.

On December 15, 2022, Emma Broyles of Alaska crowned Stanke, who was Miss Wisconsin, as Miss America 2023.

Stanke, who is from Wausau, Wisconsin, is the third Miss Wisconsin to win the national title in the pageant’s 102-year history.

After studying nuclear engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Stanke spent her year as Miss America raising awareness about nuclear power and zero-carbon energy sources.

Throughout 2023, she visited nuclear power plants across the US and spoke about the benefits of nuclear power at various events, including the American Nuclear Society’s 2023 annual conference in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In September 2023, the Wall Street Journal profiled Stanke, calling her the “new face of nuclear energy.”

In a September 2023 interview with On Wisconsin, Stanke discussed her experience with Miss America.

“This experience has taught me a lot about the life I want to live, about what I want in the future,” she said.

“Miss America is a scholarship organization at its core,” Stanke added.

“We’re creating great women for the world and preparing the world for these great women.”

Stanke also reiterated that despite Miss America’s history – the pageant famously began as a swimsuit competition – the competition has evolved in recent years.

“It’s about women embracing who they are, women who aren’t afraid to lead, and women who are looking for a higher education,” Stanke said.
