The separation announcement seemingly culminates the rumors of infidelity that have trailed the pair’s union since last year.

Speculation surrounding potential marital issues for the singer-songwriter surfaced when he celebrated his 30th birthday during Carnival 2023 in Jamaica.

He was reportedly caught in a provocative dance session with model Mela Millz, who was in a traditional Carnival costume.

As reported by The Blast, a video of the moment featured a shirtless Chance playfully slapping Millz on the derrière multiple times as she twerked on him.

Amid the public’s concerns that Chance’s actions were inappropriate for a married man and father, a representative clarified that he and Corley had no issues.

As they stated at the time, “Everyone has their moments, but they’re all good.”

Despite the representative’s claims, it soon became clear that Corley had a problem with her then-husband dancing in such a manner with Millz.

She subtly hinted at her discontent by sharing a cryptic message that featured a passage from the late Maya Angelou’s essay “Home.”

The excerpt, which she posted on Instagram, began, “Most people don’t grow up. It’s too d— difficult. What happens is most people get older. That’s the truth of it.”

It added, “They honor their credit cards, find parking spaces, and have the nerve to have children but don’t grow up. Not really. They get older. And you find out what it costs us to love and to lose, to dare and to fail. And maybe even more, to succeed.”

Alongside the lengthy message, Corley admonished, “I hope we all choose to grow up one day.”

In light of Chance and Corley’s impending divorce, it is worth noting that it will not be the first time their romance will hit a rock.

As Elite Daily previously detailed, roughly five months after they welcomed Kensli, Corley filed legal documents seeking to officially establish Chance as her father and to maintain sole custody of the tot.

She also supposedly requested child support, encompassing expenses incurred during pregnancy and delivery, along with attorney fees.

Even though the duo later reconciled, they faced another snag in February 2017 when Corley filed for a parenting schedule, claiming that they were separating. However, by March 2017, she and Chance settled their dispute out of court and reconciled yet again.
