Best Of The Red Carpet Gallery – Deadline

In celebration of female voices in film, the Red Sea International Film Festival (RedSeaIFF) and Vanity Fair Europe hosted the 5th Women In Cinema Dinner event this evening, shining a light on the achievements of women both on and behind the camera who are helping shape the film industry and inspire a new generation of talent in Saudi Arabia, Africa, and India.

The event was held at the Shangri-La in Jeddah, honoring Egypt’s first screen icon, Nabila Ebeid. Notable guests included Catherine Deneuve, Sharon Stone, Michelle Williams, Zoe Saldana, Baz Luhrmann, Maïwenn, Ananya Panday, Diane Kruger, Michelle Rodriguez, Naomi Campbell, Catherine Martin and many more on Friday, 1st of November.

The Festival kicked off with the World Premiere of the Saudi fantasy romance HWJN, directed by Yasir Al Yasiri, at the Opening Night Gala on Thursday, 30th December. The gala event was attended by Baz Luhrman, Will Smith, Johnny Depp, Maïwenn, Michelle Williams, Sharon Stone, Baz Luhrman, Catherine Martin, Diane Kruger, Frieda Pinto, Joel Kinnaman, Paz Vega, Ranveer Singh and many more.

The appointed jury for the 2023 edition of the festival is headed by Baz Luhrmann and The Red Sea: Features jury includes Joel Kinnaman, Freida Pinto, Amina Khalil and Paz Vega. The Red Sea: Shorts competition will be judged by jurors Hana Alomair, Assaad Bouab and Fatih Akin.

The Festival Awards night will close with the MENA Premiere of Ferrari, the new biopic from Michael Mann and starring Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz.  Studio Ghibli director Hayao Miyazaki’s most recent film The Boy and the Heron, will screen as the Public Closing Film.

The Red Sea International Film Festival will run from 30 November – 9 December.
