MOVIE star and Golden Globe winner Barbara Rush has died at 97.
The actress, most famous for her roles in It Came From Outer Space and Peyton Place, died on March 31 evening.
Her daughter Claudia Cowan confirmed that her mother died “peacefully” on Easter Sunday.
“My wonderful mother passed away peacefully at 5:28 this evening. I was with her this morning and know she was waiting for me to return home safely to transition,” she told Fox News.
“It’s fitting she chose to leave on Easter as it was one of her favorite holidays and now, of course, Easter will have a deeper significance for me and my family.”
Her death comes just months after her daughter posted a birthday tribute that described her mother as “golden” on Instagram.
“She is golden, she is a diamond, she glows like the moon and shines like the sun,” Cowan wrote in January.
“Age does not diminish the light in her eyes, the sweetness of her heart, or the wisdom in her soul.
“To me, she is 97 years young.”
Rush had a successful career that spanned over seven decades and saw her work with Hollywood greats like Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando.
The legendary actress was particularly famous for her 1950s melodramas.
She started her acting career on the stage but got her breakthrough in the 1953 science fiction horror film It Came From Outer Space.
This portrayal landed her a prestigious Golden Globe for most promising newcomer – female.
