2024 Grammy Nominations Revealed — The nominations for the highly-anticipated 2024 Grammy Awards have finally been revealed. Leading the pack of nominations is former Consequence cover star SZA with nine total nominations, including Album of the Year for her second LP SOS, followed closely behind by her collaborator Phoebe Bridgers, who nabbed eight nominations, including seven with her band boygenius. Other notable artists with numerous nominations include Olivia Rodrigo, Foo Fighters, Billie Eilish, and Lana Del Rey.
André 3000 Releases Debut Album — Following the dissolution of Outkast in 2007 (aside from a one-off reunion tour in 2014) and a spat of feature verses for other artists, André 3000 has finally released his debut album, New Blue Sun. Despite expectations and anticipation that he would come back to rap with the best of them yet again, the new album is an instrumental, flute-driven album, featuring tracks such as “I swear, I Really Wanted To Make A ‘Rap’ Album But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time.” Quite the mouthful.
Geddy Lee Hints At Rush Reunion — After the tragic passing of Neil Peart in 2020 effectively closed the doors on any future Rush performances, frontman Geddy Lee has backed up to hint that a reunion could still happen. During an interview with the Washington Post, he says that “we could do that now,” in reference to a possible Rush reunion, opening the doors back up for a possible new slate of shows.
Peter Hook to Play Joy Division and New Order Tracks — Peter Hook & The Light have announced a new tour, and have dedicated the shows to playing the entireties of both Joy Division and New Order’s Substance albums. The singles compilations feature some of the bands’ best-known tracks, and the aforementioned tour will kick off in April 2024, following the end of their current tour leg.

Violet Grohl and Dave Grohl Team Up to Cover Nirvana — As if to pass the torch down from father to child, earlier this week Dave Grohl made an appearance at a concert to help perform Nirvana’s classic track “Heart Shaped Box,” taking over on the drums while his daughter Violet Grohl performed vocals. Together, they also performed Foo Fighters’ song “Show Me How,” off their new album But Here We Are, while Violet herself helped sing a series of David Bowie covers with Bowie’s former pianist Mike Garson.
