Nineteen leading entertainment organizations — including UMG, RIAA, A2IM, and Recording Academy — have formed a coalition to protect concertgoers from price gouging and deceptive and predatory ticketing practices.
In a collective effort to protect fans from deceptive and predatory ticketing practices and price gouging, a broad and united front of nineteen leading entertainment organizations has joined forces to form the Fix the Tix coalition. The coalition will advocate for more equitable concert ticketing, “better than the nightmare many fans and artists currently navigate.”
“With representation from venues, promoters and producers, the performing arts, artists groups, recorded music, and independent ticketing companies, this coalition represents stakeholders who take on all the risk to create once-in-a-lifetime experiences and bring joy, employment, and economic impact to communities across America,” the coalition’s official statement reads.
At launch, the Fix the Tix Coalition includes the following members:

- Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP)

A broad outcry from the music industry over questionable ticketing practices comes at a time when juggernauts like Ticketmaster and HYBE have begun to pioneer systems like dynamic ticket pricing, making it all but impossible for fans to determine the price of a concert ticket before purchase.
