Social media wants to “protect” TikTok’s “singing grandad” at all costs, as his covers for various songs have delighted millions.
TikTok’s “singing grandad,” Edwin, has shared many covers of some of the most popular songs. He’s covered tunes from Lana Del Ray, Goo Goo Dolls, the movie Wicked, and more.
In one of his most recent covers, TikTok’s singing grandad sang ‘Pink Pony Club’ by Chappell Roan. He posted his rendition about one week after the Grammy’s, where Roan captivated the audience.
Edwin has since drawn interest from viewers for his “immaculate” execution of the Grammy-award-winner’s track.
“I would spend an ungodly amount of money for you to put out an album of your covers. Love this,” wrote one fan of the TikToker.
TikTokers praise the singing grandad
Though Edwin said it was his grandchildren who convinced him to cover Roan’s song, his soft, yet charming voice stole the hearts of many.
“He sings so politely,” said one viewer.
“Edwin’s always getting tears from me,” added another.
Many of his millions of viewers also suggested he needed to be “protected at all costs,” a phrase issued to people who create wholesome content.
After Edwin’s fans hyped him up about his enjoyingly somber voice, he began sharing his covers on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Some of his uploads include ‘August’ by Taylor Swift, ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis, and his latest release, ‘It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,’ a Bing Crosby classic.
TikTok’s singing grandad has also been able to leave an everlasting memory for his beloved family by using Mureka, an app that generates AI-written lyrics with his voice singing them.
Earlier this February, another music-loving TikToker also went viral after she met Ariana Grande. As the two hung out, the TikToker serenaded the Wicked star, leaving viewers shocked by how good her voice was.
