The Eagles announce ‘The Long Goodbye’ final tour

Popular Rock and Roll band The Eagles announced Thursday that they plan on embarking on a final cross-country tour beginning in September and lasting till 2025.

They are taking flight one last time.

Famed rock ‘n’ roll band The Eagles announced Thursday that they plan on embarking on a final cross-country tour beginning in September through 2025.

“Our long-run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed,” the band said in an emotional statement. “But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle.”

 “The official farewell tour is currently in the planning stages,” continued the statement, which then goes on to give a bit of the band’s history.

“The Eagles have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe; keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals and setbacks of many kinds,” said the band, which formed in 1972.

The Post reached out to the group for comment.

“The Long Goodbye” tour is scheduled to begin on Sept. 7, 2023, at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, before heading to Boston, Denver, Atlanta and several other cities.

The Eagles — comprised of Don Henley, 75, Joe Walsh, 75, Timothy B. Schmit, 75, and Vince Gill, 65— also announced that they will play as many shows as they can in each city to accommodate their fans.

Henley, Walsh, Schmit and Gill will also be joined by Deacon Frey, 30, the son of the late Glenn Frey, who served as the band’s lead singer until his death in 2016.

Following Frey’s death, Henley indicated that the band wouldn’t tour again, but after playing a couple of surprise gigs, the band resumed performing live.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers have played more than 1,000 concerts and earned six Grammy Awards.

They said that the final tour will be all about the fans who have stuck with them through the ages.

“We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music,” continued the band’s statement. “At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades.”

“This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”
