Taylor Swift Will Earn Over $100 Million in Spotify Royalties in 2023

Spotify’s 2023 Wrapped has arrived, and with it, a slew of stats and data on 2023 in music. The headliner? Taylor Swift, who was the platform’s most-streamed artist of the year, a feat that will earn her over $100 million.

On Wednesday, November 29th, Spotify unveiled that Swift had generated 26.1 billion streams over the year, in part thanks to the releases of her 2022 album, Midnights, her 2023 re-releases, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version), and her ongoing “Eras Tour.” Each of those releases racked up hundreds of millions of streams, and now, her year-end stats blow every other artist in Spotify history out of the water — in 2022, when Bad Bunny broke the previous record for most-streams in a year, he only brought in around 18.5 billion.

According to Billboard, the streams Swift can already account for will likely bring in around $97 million — add in the streams she’ll get in December, and that figure grows to around $101 million, which could easily hit the $130 million mark when you count-in publishing revenue.

Outside of Spotify, Billboard estimates that Swift has earned a grand total of 38.3 billion streams across all platforms.

Currently, Swift is enjoying a pause between legs of “The Eras Tour,” which just wrapped its Latin American run. In Brasil, Swift was greeted by a special projection on Christ the Redeemer, but faced tragedy after a fan died at a concert in Rio de Janeiro. Since then, Swift has honored the fan, and even met with her family.

This past week, Swift announced that the “Eras Tour” concert film will become available for home streaming on her birthday, December 13th. Already, it’s the highest-grossing domestic release of a concert film ever.

Meanwhile, next year, “The Eras Tour” will continue with shows in Japan, Australia, and more. In late 2024, she’ll return to America for shows in Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Toronto, and Vancouver. By the time she’s done with the tour, it’s widely expected to gross over a billion dollars and become the most successful tour in music history.
