Taylor Swift had a 2019 hit called “Me!”
But even the 32-year-old pop superstar gets over herself sometimes.
“I struggle a lot with the idea that my life has become unmanageably sized, and I struggle with the idea of not feeling like a person,” Swift said early Monday in her Instagram stories.
That confession came after the “Shake It Off” singer revealed the latest song title from her upcoming album “Midnights” on TikTok — at the stroke of midnight, of course.
And the latest song title is … “Anti-Hero.” Swift has been teasing fans with her “Midnights Mayhem With Me” series that she launched on Sept. 21, picking a ball with a track number from a lottery-style cage.
“Anti-Hero” — which is the third track on “Midnights” — is the sixth song title to be revealed from Swift’s much-anticipated 10th studio album, due Oct. 21. The other song titles she has cryptically shared on TikTok are “Mastermind,” “Vigilante S – – t,” “Question…?,” “Midnight Rain” and “Maroon.”
But this is the first time that the 11-time Grammy winner has let Swifties in on more than just the song title. She gave some insight into the inspiration behind “Anti-Hero” on Instagram.
“This song really is a real guided tour throughout all of the things I tend to hate about myself,” she said. “We all hate things about ourselves. It’s all of those aspects of the things we dislike and like about ourselves that we have to come to terms with if we’re going to be this person. I think it’s really honest.”
Swift — who first announced the upcoming release of “Midnights” when she accepted her record third Video of the Year trophy at the MTV Video Music Awards in August — has described the album as “stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.”
And she dedicates the 13-track LP — her first since 2020’s double dose of “Folklore” and “Evermore” — to “all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching.”
