NFL running back Bijan Robinson is trading touchdowns for turntables in his new off-field venture, a DJing series called “Spin Zone.”
Known for juking defenders with lightning precision, Robinson says his offseason hobby is DJing. In each episode of his new online video series, he sharpens his DJ skills with the help of an established act in the electronic dance music world.
With just one touchdown through five games of the 2024 NFL season, the Atlanta Falcons star may not be producing much for his fantasy football owners, but he’s delivering W’s in the studio. “Spin Zone” launched last month by virtue of a session with chart-topping dance music duo Louis The Child, who taught him the fundamentals of beat-matching. He then headed to the Atlanta studio of house music star Austin Millz, with whom he discussed the importance of feeding off a crowd’s energy on the dancefloor.
Whether or not Robinson goes from reading defenses to reading rooms full of ravers remains to be seen, but his goal, he says, is to start performing b2b sets alongside other DJs.
“My goal for the offseason around DJing is, I want to learn but then I want to start doing some sets—do some sets with other DJs,” he told Louis The Child’s Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett.
