Mötley Crüe Sign to Big Machine Records Ahead of New Single

Mötley Crüe have inked a new deal with Big Machine Records ahead of their upcoming single, “Dogs of War,” arriving this Friday (April 26th). The song marks the band’s first new music since 2019.

The deal distinguishes a new chapter for the Crüe, who have undergone major changes over the past couple years with the exit of founding axeman Mick Mars and the addition of journeyman guitarist John 5.

“Mötley Crüe on Big Machine! Growing up in Southern California, I was in Hollywood when these new sheriffs showed up and took over the city,” commented Big Machine Chairman and CEO Scott Borchetta via a press release. “It was loud. It was powerful. It was game changing. Vince, Nikki, and Tommy, along with new guitarist John 5, have reignited the flame with ferocious new Crüe music. Fans will unite… SHOUT!”

Borchetta and Big Machine Records were behind the 2014 tribute album Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Mötley Crüe, which featured country music covers of the Crüe’s most famous tracks. The LP proved successful, debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200 and No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. Furthermore, Big Machine released John 5’s 2021 album Sinner.

Added the band in a collective statement: “We are thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of our new music through Big Machine Records. Scott’s been a friend and supporter of the band for a long time, and we loved collaborating on the Nashville Outlaws album in 2014. We’re very happy to know our new music will be in the best of hands with Scott and his exceptional team at Big Machine.”

Meanwhile, Mötley Crüe have numerous festival dates and one-off appearances slated for the remainder of 2024, including a two-night stand in Atlantic City on May 3rd and May 4th (get tickets here).

Little else was revealed about the record deal and upcoming single, though the press release did include the single art for “Dogs of War” (see it below). Stay tuned to Heavy Consequence for the single drop on Friday (April 26th).
